| I just got a brand new computer and now I’m looking for some fun games to put on my computer. I’m really interested in learning how to play backgammon and have heard that there are some great programs that you can play against that are also tutors and will also analyze your game and help you to improve. I’m just looking for information about these bot programs. Which one is the best for a beginner and which one is the best for the money? |

You know, you don’t have to spend any money at all for these programs! GNU is a great backgammon software and it’s free! You can find information and downloads here:

GNU is a great program—that’s what I learned on and currently my two brothers are learning there too and we all love it! We use the strategies we’ve learned from GNU when we play against each other and I have even found myself giving them suggestions on how to improve their game that I have learned from GNU. I definitely recommend it. |

Snowie is another great choice, though it does cost a bit of money. It is in my opinion, however, the best way to learn backgammon and improve your game. Snowie also analyzes your game and gives you tips for improvement. Many backgammon websites even use Snowie to analyze games played on their sites to catch people who are trying to use bots to cheat! You can find more information about Snowie at https://www.bgsnowie.com/
Good luck! |
