Backgammon is such a great game. It can be a very simple game depending on how you play because there is so much chance involved, but it can also be quite exhilarating if you play with strategy. Many people like to play backgammon for stakes, thus gambling on games. When you play this way, scoring a gammon is really great.
How do you go about scoring a gammon? Well all you have to do is bear off all your checkers before your opponent has all of his in his home board. This is really fun to do and it can win you a lot of money, depending on the stakes of the game. The reason you can win more is because when scoring a gammon you automatically double the stakes of the game.
For instance say you and your opponent are playing 5 games at one point each and he wins the first three games, if you win only two, but score a gammon in one of the games you are tied. This is great because you only one two games, but doubled the stakes in one of them. Scoring a gammon can really be a sign that you are an advanced player. It takes skill to put your opponent in a position where he or she is left in such a position that you are so far ahead in the game, that you can make such a play. |
