| I have begun to be so fed up with whiners and droppers that I have almost stopped playing online backgammon altogether! What can I do? I feel like every time I get a streak of good dice my opponents whine and complain about how the dice must be rigged or “why aren’t I getting these dice?” and I am also annoyed by players who seem to drop the game every time they see that I am going to win. Maybe they just don’t see a point in “wasting their time” finishing up the game but can’t they take my feelings into consideration? I would never drop, even if I knew I was losing. How can I deal with these people?? |

Unfortunately we all have to deal with these whiners and droppers. One of my biggest pet peeves is people whining about dice. Usually when I see that a player is a whiner I simply tell them that their chatting disrupts my concentration and I would appreciate it if they could keep it to a minimum and only talk about relevant, important issues. This usually works. If not, you should just keep a list for yourself of whiners and not play them again.
The same goes for droppers. Keep a list and don’t play these people again. You really have no way of knowing whether or not your opponent is going to drop, so there’s always a chance. Just hope for the best.
I like to play against the same group of people again and again—people that I know don’t whine or drop and I enjoy playing against them. |
