Pai gow poker online sounds like some combination of the Internet poker card game, and an oriental game and in fact that is a reasonable starting definition. Pai gow poker online combines the poker card game played in American casinos with an ancient Chinese domino game called Pai gow.
Although Pai gow poker online is played with the regular pack of 53 cards, including a joker card, there are a number of differences from the standard poker game. The Pai gow poker game is played by one of more players competing against a banker, and any of the players has the right to request to be the banker. The pace of Pai gow poker online is also noticeably slower than the regular poker game, and tied hands occur frequently.
The game commences with players making their wagers and each player receives seven cards. Sometimes a dice throw is used to decide which player is dealt first, or a randomly generated number might determine this card allocation.
Players sort their cards into five card and two card hands, making sure that the two card hand is less than the five card hand, and these hands are compared with those of the dealer with the highest hand winning. In the case of a tie, the banker wins. The right to be banker is normally passed from player to player, and the gaming room also has its turn. For a player to become the banker they need to have sufficient funds to pay off all the winning bets. |
