The game of backgammon has been around for thousands of years, as has the backgammon board. For this reason there are a huge variety of games that can be played with a backgammon board that have been introduced over the years. "Tables" is a general term for all of these backgammon board games.
Nackgammon is one of these games. Played with the same rules and table as backgammon, nackgammon simply starts with a different set up. In nackgammon, each player begins with four checkers back rather than two. Starting with two checkers each on the opposing one and two points, nackgammon games are generally longer and tougher than other backgammon board games and great for strengthening your backgammon strategy and skills.
Hyper-Backgammon is also played with regular backgammon rules but each player begins with only three checkers - one each on the opposing one, two and three points. This game is quick but tough and is great for sharpening your backgammon strategy.
Another variation of backgammon board games is long-gammon, in which players begin with all fifteen checkers on the opposing one point. Aside from the set up this game also uses normal backgammon rules.
Backgammon board games are played in variations all over the world. The games of Acey-Deucy, Russian, French and Dutch Backgammon are more variations starting with all of the checkers off the board.
With a backgammon board you can entertain yourself and your friends for ages - the possibilities of backgammon table games are endless! |
