I am a young poker player and I need some sound advice. Should I just jump right in and go for it, with everything every time? This way my weaknesses won’t get exposed and make all the players want to come at me? |

What you need to do is practice. Duh!!! Yu need to put yourself in games with other inexperienced players. This is the route you need to take until you don’t need to focus on your inexperience. Ok let’s say you do find yourself in a tournament. Say you’re at a table with players who are way above your league. I mean really much better. In this case it is a better choice for you to not let yourself get in there too deep. |

Really you’ve got it all wrong. How are you going to improve with strategic ideas like that? You’re never going to learn to really play if you are just trying to push every hand. First of all you have one thing right by acknowledging that you are inexperienced. This is the first step to improvement is evaluating our weaknesses and trying to see how you can make them better. You need to play a lot more games with other players who are challenging you, but not so much better, that you aren’t learning. Also another good way to improve is to evaluate all your games and plays once you are done. Pick everything apart and look to see if you are making the same mistake over and very again. |
