A lot people think differently about Jamie Gold. I believe he is a very good player at an amateur tournament level. I know, I know when he won the WSOP his actions at the table were arguable. The thing is thought that he ran it really well and actually I think the way he played the big stack was commendable. It was better than most of the other players I have seen. You can’t really criticize the guy for the way for the way he won that WSOP. Maybe his mannerisms at the table bother me a bit, but I have to say “hats off to his talent”. He did play very good tournament poker there.
When I see him in high stakes no limit cash games I think he is a bit outmatched. Just take a look at his hand with Sammy and other hands you’ve seen of his. Sometimes I wonder if he even really gets it that he is playing in a cash game. I’s like sometimes I really admire his style and then I see him play in a different game and I get all frustrated watching him play.
I think he has a lot to learn and maybe he just needs to change his attitude during play. I think over time his game will improve more and more. Even if his table manner is not accepted by all, one day he could really beat those big shots! He’s not try to win a popularity contest, just trying to win a lot of cash. |
