Playing a backgammon game is easy to do online. But do you really know how to play it? here are some tips and the overall game concept. It really does not matter if you are in a beginner, intermediate or advanced level. Here you will get the best backgammon tips around. Before we get to it, let me outline the concept of the game.
The objective of the backgammon game is to bring all your pieces, white or black, into your inner board so that you can move into the bear-off game phase. The winner of the game is the first person to bear off all of his pieces; in other words, a player must get all his pieces past his opponent's pieces, into his inner board and bear them off before his opponent is able to. This means that a tie is not possible in backgammon. Now that you have the main concept of the game, we cam actually get to some backgammon tips.
A common error of many beginners is avoiding blots (a single checker on a point) at all costs. When considering whether to make a risky play, pay special attention to how many points your opponent has made in their board. If they only hold 1 or 2 points, you are probably not in much danger even if you get hit. When they have 4 or 5 points made, a hit could easily be fatal to your backgammon game.
Remember that ultimately, every backgammon game boils down to a "race," getting your checkers off the board before your opponent. Therefore, considers these last backgammon tips I can give you. The "race status," or "pip count," should always be kept in mind. If you are ahead, generally try to avoid contact and race; if you are behind, you need to consider ways to block and hit your opponent to slow him down. |
