I’m sorry I am such a newbie. But really I need to know what the difference is between Omaha poker and Texas Hold’em poker. Can someone explain it to me? Oh and I have another question too. Why are Omaha tables always less crowded than Hold’em tables? |

Oh man, don’t worry. It’s not a stupid question. Here I am going to explain to you the difference. Omaha first of all is less popular than Hold’em, but that doesn’t mean the game is at all less interesting. First things first, in Hold’em you are dealt 4 hole cards and there are 5 cards on the board. To make a hand you have to use 2 of your own cards in your hand and three community cards. Good luck man, try both games and see which one you like better. |

There are a lot of reasons why Omaha tables are less crowded. For one thing in Hold’em you are much freer to do what you want than in Omaha. Card players love their freedom, so maybe that’s why. Another thing is that when you Omaha you need to be very patent. The second best hands almost never win at that game. You usually need to have a straight or a flush to become a winner. Sometimes a bad player can win at Hold’em, maybe if he’s really (in the long run remember Hal Fowler the WSOP 1979 champ) Omaha is only for players like him that know how to make it. That’s my advice. |
