The backgammon board is something that many of us would consider as just a means to play a game. This is definitely not the case. The backgammon board is not only for play, but it is also appreciated around the globe for its aesthetics. People have been collecting backgammon boards since the game was first originated. A backgammon board is usually made of cardboard or wood. There is also backgammon boards which are magnetic and can be played in places where the checkers would usually fly away such as a car, bus plane or even on the beach on a windy day.
Many people argue about what makes the design of this board so special. The big black triangles add a symmetry and style to the board which makes it to be one of the most beautiful board games on the market.
Besides the backgammon board being an aesthetic wonder, it's also a great thing to play on. Here is the components of the board and what's related to it. The board consists of 24 points. The points are separated into four sections with six points in a section. Many times the board folds in half. Down the middle of the board, (usually wherethe fold is), is called the bar. There is also dice for play and a doubling cube. This is used a counter to keep track of the stakes of the game when players are doubling. |
