Starting a backgammon club can be a very difficult task. You'll have to find a venue and members and keep people coming back. Finally, you’ll need a lot of patience.
The first thing you need to do if you want to start a backgammon club is find a venue. Without a place to play, the club can't exist. Popular venues for backgammon clubs include recreation centers and pubs. Pubs are a little more popular, as they offer a nice atmosphere, drinks and food. A lot of times pubs have separate rooms that can be rented out for weekend parties but they may let you use the room for free in the middle of the week as you will be bringing them more customers than they usually have. Once you have found a venue, you need to find members.
It can be a hard task finding members for your backgammon club. Of course you only need two to start, but it can be quite boring having a club with only two members. One good way to find members are by word of mouth - tell all of your friends! Aside from that, you'll have to advertise. You can make fliers to post around town - in the library, in the gym, in the grocery store. Make sure that the flier is obviously about backgammon in order to get the attention of enthusiasts like you and draw them to your backgammon club.
Finally you have to sit back and be patient. It may take awhile, but people will start coming to your backgammon club and it will grow and grow! |
