I am relatively new to this whole casino gaming craze and I want to play online roulette. I understand the basics of the game… that you have to bet on which number slot the ball lands in on the roulette wheel. The problem is that I have no idea how the roulette betting table works or what different things I can place bets on. Can someone explain? |

The roulette table is a lot simpler than it looks. It is basically a grid filled with all of the numbers you can bet on in a game of roulette. You can bet for a single number by placing a chip on the number, for a group of numbers by placing a chip on the cross-section of the lines where the numbers meet, an entire column or row of lines, odds, evens, red, black 0 or 00 (if you are playing on an American roulette wheel).
There are two types of bets in roulette—inside bets and outside bets. Inside bets include 1 number, 2 numbers (place checker on the line that divides the 2 numbers on the table), a row of 3 numbers, a corner of 4 numbers or a line of 6 numbers. Outside bets include betting on a column of 12 numbers, a group of 12 numbers, red or black, high or low, or even or odd numbers. Betting groups are clearly distinguishable on the roulette betting table.
Different bets are worth different payouts. Obviously, betting on a single number and winning is worth more than betting on a group of 12 or betting on a 50:50 bet like odds/evens or red/black. |
