| I have been playing backgammon for a while now but I have just recently started playing for money. My question is, is there any possibility of one of my opponents buying rigged dice and using them against me in a money game? If so, where would this person buy these so-called crooked dice? |

| Of course there are rigged dice. Dice can be loaded or weighted to fall on specific numbers more often than others. The corners and faces can also be slightly altered in order that they will fall on certain numbers more often. I will not, of course, tell you where you could by these “so-called crooked dice”, as I wouldn’t want to increase the number of crooks out their who are trying to cheat us all. |

If you are worried about your opponents using rigged dice against you then your best bet is to bring your own set of dice and insist that the other player use them as well. I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming that you aren’t interested in buying crooked dice yourself.
Precision dice are the best way to avoid crooked dice and guarantee that each roll is perfectly random. Precision dice are made in such a fashion that each side is of perfectly equal weight and shape and they are usually clear so that everyone can see that they haven’t been weighted from the inside. These dice are the best way to avoid dice fraud, especially when you are playing for money. |
