If you play poker for money online then follow some basic tips and stay secure. The first thing you need to do is use secure passwords. You need to use a password that is hard to guess with different numbers and letters. Capitalization is also very helpful. Don’t even use part of your real name or maiden name or a birthdate. This is asking for trouble and is just unsafe.
The next thing that is really important is that you use a different password everywhere. If you have to use some of the same passwords so that you can remember them, you need to at least have a few different ones and cycle them around. Really the smartest thin to do is to use a new password on every different poker site. It may be a bit confusing, but the company can send it to you via email if you really forget it. If it is a banking site it is essential that you use something that is unique, you’ll really regret it if you don’t. Trust me.
You can take this advice about playing poker safely or leave it, but I think it’s really valuable. Don’t use a free email address like gmail or yahoo or hotmail etc. for accounts that need to be kept secure. Do you really trust the people at these sites? They are paid so little because the site is free, I can’t imagine they have time to be security guards all the time. With email security you pay for this feature and you are more likely to receive it! |
