I just had a couple of questions, what is the difference between AF and A frequency? I don’t understand their relationship etc. Another question, what is bb/100 for the table? Does it measure the amount of people coming or leaving the table? I think it’s petty useless, I just don’t have any ideas what it means. |

This is easy. A frequency is the number of times the players bet or raised. After 10k hands this could mean in the thousands. The more hands equals a higher aggressive frequency. AF is standard frequency and higher AF is more aggressive.

Aggression frequency is calculated as the (times raised + the times bet)/(times raises+times bet+times called+times folded)
As a percentage is the same percentage as times raised +times bet. This number has nothing to do with VP$IP. A player with an aggression frequency of 60% bets or raises 60% of the time.
I know use frequency instead of factor because it is a much better indicator of aggression. Total AF is a good indicator of overall preflop aggression although, street to street is better as Aggression frequency.
You need to consider folding as wimpy non aggressive play. It’s an essential factor in the calculation. Af does not take folding into consideration. Say there is a player who folds on the flop 98 times and then he bets only once and raises only once, his AF would be insane! This is important to keep in mind. |
