Recently there have been a few problems with some of the payment methods online for internet poker. Some of the accounts are getting hacked and I just want to give people some tips that will keep them safe from this kind of issue. The problem is not the fault of the payment companies or of the poker sites themselves. Actually from what I have seen and heard these companies have been really good about reimbursing players for their loses.
It’s crazy but somehow these hackers are getting into these poker accounts, hacking them and retrieving all the info.
They sometimes use this information that the steal from you and hack into your account and use your webmail. Sometimes they can get into the account which is you poker payment method and access your funds. Even change your password. All of your balance can be suddenly transferred away and it’s really quite stressful.
There’s a couple ways to stop this from happening which are really helpful and really work. For one thing if you use a password with different letters and numbers and you use capitals, that a great way to keep yourself safe!
Another thing that you need to keep in mind with the password is don’t make it something that is a name that correlates with an obvious date. Don’t use your birthday or your maiden name. That’s just asking for trouble. If you are aware also and catch it you will be reimbursed which is a great feeling to know you are safe in that way. |
