No limit poker is exactly what it sounds like-a game of poker with no limits placed on betting. In these games a player may bet as many of his chips as he would like, with no limits.

The rules of no limit allow an unlimited amount of raises in any given betting round and therefore the stakes can rise to quite high numbers. It is therefore important to be careful when you are playing a game of no limit poker. More than a few players have gotten carried away and bet much more money than they could afford to lose. That is why it is extremely important to be cautious. Only bring as much money to the table as you are willing to part with. If the stakes get too high for you then you may be forced to fold. It's sad an unfortunate, but that's just the way the game works.

In no limit poker there are a couple of things to pay attention to. The first is that usually a large bet means a good hand. There is, of course, the occasional player who will try to bluff by placing a huge bet on a lousy hand, but when it comes down to it players generally won't make the mistake of putting a huge amount of money down on bad cards. If someone makes a massive bet and you don't have the chance of getting a straight flush or royal flush or another great hand then it is probably a good idea to fold and save yourself the loss.
