Download Backgammon SoftwareOne reason backgammon is such a cool game, is that its structure is a mixture between chance and skill. The game can really be a mind bender, but there are still certain aspects of it that are totally based on chance. Moving the backgammon checkers is one action which relies on a simple roll of the dice. This roll is a total Russian roulette, but the outcome of it is what you make out of it.

For instance, when you play a game of backgammon and you roll on you turn the numbers one and three with your two dice, you have two choices. You can either move one of your checkers three points and another different checker one point or you can put the two dice numbers together and move one checker four points. Moving the backgammon checkers is trickier though than just explained though. Yes, you only have two choices in the sense that you can decide whether to use your two dice separately or together, but what checkers you choose to use, this is where the rest of the strategy begins to play.

Moving the backgammon checkers is something totally different for a beginner player versus an advanced one. The sign of an advanced player is that this player puts much more thought into which checkers he or she chooses to move. This player is constantly trying to put himself or herself into positions where the opponent is left with no options. Moving the backgammon checkers is something that must be mastered if you want to become the best. Remember practice and thought is the way to win.
