If you are new to playing poker online and are nervous about learning how to play there is no need to worry-it is easy to learn online poker. Online poker is played with the same rules of regular poker. If you don't know the rules of regular poker they are actually quite simple. Poker is a game in which players compete for the best hand of cards. Poker hands generally have five cards (with the exception of games like three card poker) and hands are ranked in the following order: royal flush, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair and one pair. A royal flush is the highest hand while one pair is the lowest. If you want to learn online poker and don't know about poker hands you can easily find an explanation of the hands online.
Poker games are made up of rounds in which players receive several cards and then place bets based on how they value their cards. Depending on their cards a player will raise, call or fold. If a player raises this means that they place a bet equal to the highest bet plus more money. A call is a bet equal to the highest bet. If a player folds then they are taking themselves out of the rest of the game and the bets they have placed up to that point don't count.
There are a number of sites that will help you learn online poker but the best way to learn online poker is to actually sign up and play the game. Now you understand the basics, so go ahead and give it a try. |
