Download Backgammon SoftwareIn Las Vegas Blackjack, players often make hand motions over their cards. These players aren't simply gesturing as they communicate, they're actually using their hands to talk to the dealer about what they intend to do with their cards. In Las Vegas Blackjack players need to signal their actions to the dealer with a physical motion. Each action that players can make with their cards, from Hitting to Splitting, has its own specific hand motion. Casinos require players to use hand signals, so it's important to know how to perform each one so as not to confuse the dealer while in the midst of Las Vegas Blackjack play.

The Las Vegas Blackjack hand motions have been cemented into the art of the game. These are the well-known and frequently used Blackjack signals:

To Stand, a player slides his cards under his chips and moves his hand, palm up, horizontally over them.

To Hit, a player drags his cards along the table and then taps the table with one finger.

To Split, the player holds up two fingers to indicate and places an identical pile of chips next to his original bet.

To Double Down, the player holds up one finger and sets an identical chip stack next to the original chip stack. Players should note that the signal for Doubling Down is similar to Splitting, so care should be taken to distinguish between the two so as not to indicate a different action than the desired one.
