I am wondering about something and I’d love some information. Does anyone know the answer to this??? I want to know if there is a formula for sharing the prize pool in poker tournaments. For instance, what would be the percentages that would be distributed to first and second places in a 6 person single table? I am aware that it can be set with in the players with some kind of idea like “the winner takes all”. What I want to know is what do most players do in general? |

Honestly I am no sure if there is any real, set formula for giving out the prize pool in tournaments. Often times if a player is playing in a tournament which is a multi table one, the first place player gets 33% of the pool, the second place player gets 20% of the pool and the third place player gets 10% and so on. Sometimes the fourth place and more places after get a cut also. It depends on whether the tournament directors agree or not.
For a small 6 player tournament like the one you are talking about. Many people do play with the slogan “winner takes all”. If they don’t play that way, the often play that the second lace gets his buy back and the first place gets the rest of the pool. I hope this helpful and I answered your questions. |
