Since 3000BC the game of Backgammon has been enjoyed by many generations. However up till recently this game has only been played between two people. Thanks to the internet and some very clever software people this game has gone digital and internet backgammon is growing in increasing popularity. A few advantages for the backgammon on the internet are that players can play twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and one can easily find online backgammon tournaments. People from all over the world participate in these online backgammon tournaments, which is a great opportunity to meet people with the same interests and win lots of money. Even if you have never played before, there are easy to understand instructions and explanations to help you get on your way all available at your fingertips. For the experienced player there is the opportunity to learn new strategies and challenge your skills.
There has been no real change to the game at all. The board, dice and pieces have been replaced for a three-dimensional simulation of a backgammon board.
One can find one of two was of playing internet backgammon. Either one can make a new table or enter an already existing table. The former allows the player to establish the rules and the stake and then it is a matter of waiting for partners. In both cases the winner takes the money. Regarding the rules a player may choose between "series" or "single".
The "series" type is where a series of lines are played between the players and ends when one of the players reaches a number of wins (this number is established before the start of the game). The "single" type is a single game win, meaning that the winner takes the predetermined stake.
Whether you are an experienced backgammon player or you are just a rookie, the internet is your tool to becoming a champion. |
