Instructions to play backgammon are easily found online. If the instructions listed below are not sufficient for your understanding feel free to browse the internet for a more lucrative explanation. Instructions to play backgammon are simple once you understand the object of the game. The object of the game is to get all your checkers into your home board and then to eventually bear them off.
The board must be set up in a certain manner. The instructions for backgammon call for a very specific board set up. The checkers need to be placed on the board as follows according to each player…Point six has five checkers, point eight has three checkers, point thirteen has five checkers while point twenty four has two checkers. After the board is set up each player rolls the dice to see who starts.
The turns in backgammon begin with a roll of the dice from the player. The number on the dice, which is described by the dots on the dice called pips, determines the amount each player can move his checker. Since there are two dice, the roll can be split up as follows… If player one rolls a three on one die and a two on another he can either choose to move one of his checkers five or move one of his checkers three and another one two. It's important to remember with the instructions to play backgammon that a player can only move his checker on to an open point. This means that if the point has one or less of the opponent's checkers on it is possible to place your checker there. |
