I keep losing at backgammon!

No matter what I do I keep losing money at backgammon. If I think I am playing well I still lose. If my opponent is playing horribly I still lose. No matter what I do, I lose! I feel like my backgammon skills and strategy is improving so why aren’t I winning when I play backgammon for money? Someone help me, please!

I think that my best advice for you would be to try playing in free games for a while to build your skills. I know from experience that it’s no fun to lose again and again. The more that you lose the harder it will be for you to win because part of winning is having a positive attitude.

My advice is for you to start playing free games so you can get used to online competition. I also think that it would be a good idea for you to download Gnubg or some other backgammon bot like Gnubg. Programs like this will tutor you in the game. They will analyze your game as you play and tell you what you need to change in order to improve your game. I suggest that you learn with one of these programs and then, once you are playing and winning at a high level with these programs then you can start playing for money again and you should start winning.

I know that it can be a bit dull to play free games or just to play against the computer all the time. Maybe you are playing against opponents with too high of ratings. Have you checked to see that you are playing against other players who are around the same skill level as you?
