I am new to the online poker scene and so far I have only played Texas Hold’em a couple of times at home. I thought that I should try to get into online poker. I am just curious what’s the thing with odds calculators? My friend told me about one and he said I should use it just to begin playing on the net. He said it’s helpful because it tells him when to bet and when to fold etc. DO you agree with him? Do you think its important for me as a new player? |

Odds calculators and trackers are fine with cash/ring limit fixed games there goo d when the constant grind can get to you. Last year I was a major bonus chaser laying 8-10 tables at a time to clear the bonuses in a faster way. In that type of play where you cannot see the other players a calculator is basically mandatory because of the mechanical/mathematical grind of that type of limit poker.
Now a days I am a full tournament player. Calculators are no more value to me than a dirty t shirt. Trying to read players, the situation, the blinds and other stuff is what I need and calculators cannot help me with that. They’re helpful if you are just a beginner and you need to feel for the flow of the game etc. Try and see if it’s helpful for you. |
