Omaha poker is quickly growing in popularity on the web. If you are already familiar with the game then it will be easy for you to start playing online. If you don't know how to play Omaha poker there is no need to worry-it's really easy to learn how to play Omaha poker.
The rules for how to play Omaha poker are quite simple. Before the game begins, each player places an ante in order to form the prize pot. Following this, each player receives four cards face down. These cards are private cards and may not be seen by the other players. Once each player receives his cards the first round of betting occurs, based on these cards. Players choose to raise, call or fold. In the next round, three community cards are placed face up on the table to be shared by all of the players and the second round of betting, called the Flop, ensues. In the next round a fourth community card is placed on the table and the next round of betting, the Turn, occurs. Finally, a fifth card is placed on the table and the final round of betting, River, occurs. After the final round the showdown occurs. Players form 5-card hands using two of their private cards and three community cards. The player with the highest hand wins the pot.
If you weren't familiar with how to play Omaha poker but knew about Texas Hold'em then you will probably notice that these two games are almost exactly the same.
There is also a version of the game called Omaha Hi/Lo in which the pot is split between the players with the highest and lowest hands at the end of the game. |
