I am a total beginner at online poker. I am trying to figure out the best way to educate myself. Like where do I start with all this? Should I read books or can I learn just from watching TV shows. Some people say that I should play for free until I feel ready. I don’t know, but I don’t think that people playing the free poker games would be the right type of competition I need to play against, to really improve my game. |

It’s true man you do have to read books and study. You need to remember that 5-10% of players are the types that always lose. If the game was easy then everyone would be playing it. You are taking the first step by going to a poker forum and asking questions if you want to learn. That’s good. You have a hard road ahead of you because to be a good player you need to really work hard. I don’t mean to get you down. I’m just telling you the truth.
Play money is defiantly silly and saying you learned from tv will get you no where. You need to d some more research man really. I wish you the best of luck and keep asking questions on forums when you get lost. |

Thanks for the tip I appreciate it. I have been reading the forums a bit and they are helping. You are right about the tv shows now that I think about it. I never thought about all the editing that must go into them. |
