I’ve been trying to find a good place that offers free backgammon games. I’m not interested in playing for money, just in playing to have a little fun in my spare time.
I’m becoming frustrated because in all of the places that I’ve tried to play free backgammon, my opponents are abandoning the game as soon as they start losing. I am growing more and more annoyed with this kind of opposition and I just want to find a place where I can find a friendly game. Winning and losing isn’t really the point—I just want to finish a game! Please help. |

I play backgammon for money now, but when I started I was playing free games too and I faced the same problem as you so I know how frustrating it can be.
I would suggest playing in free tournaments or taking part in a backgammon group or league. These sort of settings usually draw more serious players who won’t drop you the moment they see they are falling behind. If you have friends that are playing the game you can always start an online backgammon group too, with a bunch of people you know won’t pull that sort of thing. You can also invite players that you have played and liked to join you again. |

FIBS, the First Internet BG Server, is also a pretty good site with pretty serious players.
http://www.fibs.com/
I play free games there and haven’t had much of a problem with droppers (although it does happen on occasion, but I don’t think there is any way to avoid it completely). |
