Hope these tips help while playing poker. When I have a KK in a certain type of position I like to do a couple of things. I like to pt a lot of pressure on the blinds. Don’t let the other players muck around all the time with trashy cards. I like to show the table that I am here to really play the game of poker. If they want to play you show them what that means and how much that is going to cost. I like to bet enough money so I can get the information I need from the other players.
One problem that you made is that you didn’t bet enough. Doubling the BB? That only keeps the player from playing things like 8, 3hearts, club 7, diamond 2 hearts. Your opponent is getting all the good odds to play and he can do almost anything that he wants. He will be the first to act after the flop which in a heads up type of situation at final table, this is a really big and powerful place to be in. You have not bet enough money to figure out what he has for a hand so his potential to bluff on you is like way up there. What you’re doing is you’re giving him the opportunity to play some crap cards at your expense and then he is going to nail a huge hand. |
