Like any game, playing Blackjack online comes with its own set of game-specific terminology. Taking the time to learn this jargon will help players develop a better understanding of the game from an early point in their Blackjack careers. Much of this terminology is frequently used when playing Blackjack online, and without fully understanding the meanings, a player can become lost in the game. This lack of understanding may even cause a player to lose money when playing Blackjack online because they miss out on the critical options, clues, and discussions that use this terminology. To ensure Blackjack success, players must know this relevant Blackjack online terminology.
The dealer is the casino representative who deals the cards in the game. The dealer also plays a hand of Blackjack; he is a player's sole opponent in the game.
Betting limits tells players what the maximum bet is at a specific Blackjack table. At a $1/$5 limit table, players must bet between these two amounts.
A natural Blackjack is a 21 that a player receives naturally through the first deal of the game. For a player to receive a natural Blackjack they must have an Ace, which is worth 11 points in the game. In addition to the Ace, a player must also receive a 10-value card (10, Jack, Queen, King) to make 21.
A bust occurs in Blackjack when a player exceeds a hand total of 21. Busting is an automatic loss for both the dealer and the player. |
