Blackjack Game
The game of blackjack originated in seventeenth century France with the game of Vingt-et-un, or 21. When the game of 21 was brought to the United States casinos added bonuses for specific hands, including a hand made up of the Ace of Spades and a Black Jack. Known as “Blackjack”, this hand was worth a 10:1 payout and also gave the game of blackjack its name. Although a modern day “Blackjack” hand doesn't necessarily include an Ace of Spades or even a Black Jack, the popularity of the game has been on a constant incline ever since. Today blackjack is one of the most popular card games in the world!
If you don't know how to play blackjack but want to learn don't be discouraged - blackjack rules are easy to learn. The objective of the blackjack card game is simple. You play against the dealer and in order to win you must obtain a hand which is both better than the dealer's hand and no higher than 21. If the value of your hand breaks 21 then you bust and are out of the game.
A blackjack game is very quick and very simple. To begin, players place bets. Before any cards are dealt you must place a bet which will be doubled if you win and will go to the house if you lose. Once bets are placed the dealer deals out cards—two to each player. Players' cards are placed face up on the table. The dealer's cards are placed with one card face up and the other card face down. After these initial cards have been dealt players have the option to double their bet or to continue with their initial bet. Players may also choose to split their cards into two separate hands before continuing.
Players then have the option to stay with their initial hand or to hit, asking the dealer to give them additional cards until they are satisfied that their hand can beat the dealer. Take as many cards as you'd like but be careful not to break 21! Once players are satisfied with their hands the dealer flips over his face down card to reveal his hand and winners are determined.
