I have been reading up on backgammon tournaments and have noticed that many tournaments are offering something called precision dice. What exactly are precision dice and what is the difference between precision dice and regular dice? Where did they come from and can they help out my backgammon game? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Precision dice are very carefully cut dice with very exact size. The pips, or dots, are flat instead of scooped out so that each side is of equal weight. The edges of precision dice are rounded instead of having sharp corners so that they roll more easily and you can see through them so that you can be sure that they haven’t been loaded or weighted or tampered with in any way.

Yes, this is what precision dice are but I want to answer your questions about where they came from and how they can help out your backgammon game.

Precision dice were first introduced by casinos at the beginning of the 20th century as a way to show patrons that the dice aren’t manipulate in any way. Precision dice are the only dice that guarantee a random roll. Precision dice will help out your game, especially if you are playing for money, by guaranteeing a tamper-free and totally random roll so that you can be sure that you are winning fair and square. They will ensure that the outcome of your games is purely based on skill and strategy and the dice won’t have any adverse effect.
