Is anyone but me sick of whining backgammon players?
I keep finding myself playing against opponents who won’t stop complaining. They complain that the dice must be rigged if I get a few good rolls in a row, even though they have gotten good rolls too. They complain that I’m taking too long to make my moves. They complain about everything. I’m sick of all the “why do you get all the good rolls?” and other annoying comments. I know that it isn’t really feasible for a bunch of us who are fed up to get together and make a list of whiners, so how can I avoid playing against these people? |

The way I see it, you have a couple of options. The first option is to keep a list for yourself of all the players that you have played against and make notes about who the whiners are and who the most pleasant players were and check the list each time you are challenged. Don’t play against players that have annoyed you in the past. I have a group of players that I like to play against regularly. I have played against them before so I know that they don’t whine, don’t drop and that they are generally pleasant.
Your other option is just to ignore the whining. Nothing is obligating you to look at what your opponent is writing in the chat box. If it bothers you so much then just tell your opponent that it disrupts your concentration when he chats and you would prefer to keep it a quiet game unless he has something important to say. |
