Backgammon PC Program

I’ve read the backgammon books out there and now I’m looking for a good backgammon PC program to ease me into the world of online backgammon. Can anyone recommend a good one to use?

IMHO, the best PC program out there is GNUbg. It serves all levels – from absolute beginners to the very advanced. As part of the GNU open license group, there is no cost involved when downloading this program. There are internet tutorials which show you how to use the program most effectively. There is also Jellyfish, which pretty much does the same job, although it comes with a fee. Some people say that the Jellyfish interface is better than GNUbg but that is obviously a matter of personal taste. I am very happy with GNU and don’t have any problems with its graphics or interface.
