Download Backgammon SoftwareYou have been playing backgammon online for a while now and you want to have more excitement, it is time to put your money where your skills lie.

There are three forms of backgammon online games that you can play.

Money Games: these games allow you to play a given opponent until you tire of either the game or them. Generally the site will 'rake' a percentage of the pot from the winner. Please be warned that the Jacoby Rue is applied by default on some sited while others it is optional, where as others do not allow it at all. Make sure you know that the Jacoby Rule is in effect. A great advantage about these money games is that you can chose your opponent and decline to pay if you think that he is unpleasant or is not at the same skill level you wish to play.

The second type of backgammon online you can play is the Private Match play. Again, you have the opportunity to choose your opponents and stakes and the rake is taken by the server. A fee is sometimes taken from each player at the start of the match, but sometimes just a percentage is taken from the winner.

The third backgammon online way of playing is in a tournament. In these games you will need to pay whoever enters. There are tournaments that have a minimum rating entrance. Usually the entry will require a 'refrigeration fee' ($1+$5), meaning that you are going to be paying $6 ($5 will go to the prize pool and the remaining $1 will go to the site.) Other sites offer 'freerolls' where there are no entrance feels at all, and others offer high amounts of prize money than the players provide. There are those with guaranteed prize pools regardless to the amount of entries. See there are some game sites where you can find favorable financial situations.
