Backgammon is a simple game to learn, but it is hard to find simple instructions on the web. Here are a few backgammon instructions made easy to help get your game going.
The most obvious place to start a set of backgammon instructions made easy is with an explanation of the board. A backgammon board is divided into four quadrants with a bar down the center. On your side of the board are your out board and home board quadrants. Across from them are those of your opponent. You will notice twenty-four triangular points that go entirely around the board, six in each quadrant. These are the points to which you move your checkers during the game.
The next step in backgammon instructions made easy is to understand the objective. Each player has fifteen checkers that are set up around the board. The objective is to get your checkers around the board to your home board and then bear them all off of the board before your opponent.
The checkers are moved according to the roll of two dice. You may move one checker for each die or one die the complete amount, provided the midpoint is free. You may not land on a point with two or more opposing checkers. Landing on one opposing checker, called a blot, sends the checker to the bar where the player must re-enter the game based on a dice roll.
