Instructions to play backgammon can be easily found on the internet or you can also find many books written on the subject in your local library. To learn to play backgammon you just need to keep in mind a few important things. First of all you have to understand how to setup the board. The checkers must be placed on the appropriate points. The points are numbered for player one as follows…Point 1 is at the player's right on the edge closest to him. The points are numbered from right to left in a counter clockwise position. Point 24 is at the player's far right corner. Point 24 for the initial player is point 1 for his opponent. The checkers have to be placed on the points as follows, point 6 gets 5 checkers, point 8 gets 3 checkers, point 13 gets 5 checkers and point 24 gets 2 checkers.
Instructions to play backgammon also involve each player rolling the dice and moving his checkers according to what he rolled. Each player can only roll the dice once each turn. To master the instructions to play backgammon you have to also understand the basic object of the game. This is to get all of your checkers into your home board, then after this, bear them all off the board. Sometimes if you can bear off all your checkers in your home board before your opponent has beared off any. This is called a gammon. In the instructions to play backgammon there is a rule which states that if you play a gammon the stakes of the game are automatically doubled. |
