Backgammon can be overwhelming for some players because it is a game which involves a lot of skill. What people tend to overlook though, is that backgammon is also a game which is 50% chance. People are overwhelmed by the initial board set up and other easy bits about he game that really just need a couple minutes to learn how to do. The first things that you need to understand are basic backgammon game rules.
Backgammon game rules call for the board to be set up a certain way. You need to think of every having a numerical order. The big black triangles on the board are called points and they are numbered from 1 to 24. The checkers need to be placed on the board as follows for each player. Point six gets five points, point eight gets three points, point thirteen gets five points and pint twenty four gets two points.
Backgammon game rules specify that you move your checkers according to what you rolled with the dice. Each player rolls two dice. On your turn you have a choice of using the numbers you rolled on the two dice together with a movement of one checker or you can split it up into two checkers. For instance according to backgammon game rules, if you roll a three and a two, you can either move one checker five, or you can move one checker three and another different checker two all in the same turn. |
