Download Backgammon SoftwareMany people are intimidated by the game of backgammon, thinking it's a difficult game of strategy. Backgammon is a game of strategy and chance and that's why it is so much fun. If you are not an experienced backgammon player, maybe you should first read up a bit about the game over the internet. Just type in Backgammon for amateurs into your search engine browser and start to research tips and rules.

Backgammon for amateurs is like learning how to ride a bike for the first time. First of all, like bike riding, after you learn you will never forget. Also staying an amateur in backgammon is almost impossible. Once you play the game a couple of times your on your way to becoming an advanced player. Backgammon for amateurs may initially require a couple games to be played with out stakes.

Stakes add risk to the game and make the game worth points that could represent all kinds of things such as money or what ever you and your opponent decide. When playing for stakes players often use the doubling cube. But, backgammon for amateurs could become to overwhelming for the players if stakes are introduced. It's recommended to keep the game as simple as possible until both players get the hang of things. When you're an amateur, all you need to improve your skills in backgammon is practice. Also remember you don't need to only play with another amateur. Playing with an advanced player could teach you things about the game which baffled you originally.
