Some people are intimidated by the game of backgammon thinking there are too many rules to remember and it is too hard. This is totally not the case at all. All you need to remember is few simple things such as backgammon board set up.
Backgammon board set up requires a board and checkers. The black triangles on the board are called points. There are twenty four points on the board and they are numbered differently according to the player and his or her opponent. Player one's point one starts at his or her right hand corner which is closest to him. The points go up in number in a clockwise rotation. Player one's point twenty four is at his farthest right hand corner. Remember that the points are numbered differently according to each player. Player one's point twenty four is player two's point one.
Backgammon board set up calls for the checkers to be placed on these specific points in the initial part of the game. Place the checkers as follows…Point six gets five checkers, point eight gets three checkers, point thirteen gets five checkers and point twenty four gets two checkers.
