I started playing backgammon on the net about two years ago, first with Netgammon, then GG. I started playing on FIBS about a month ago and I’ve played about 500 games. I have been totally surprised by the number of joker rolls that are coming up—not just for me, but my opponent as well! Stuff like me rolling a 6-1 to enter from the bar and hit, then my opponent getting 6-1 to enter and hit, then me getting 6-6 to enter again and hit my opponent again. This is just one instance, and I can’t even tell you the number of pure joker rolls I’ve seen.
I spoke to a few of my opponents about how crazy this seemed compared to the online backgammon I’ve played in the past, and the consensus seems to be that this is a known fact on FIBS.
I’ve been looking on the web for information about this FIBS joker roll madness but I haven’t found much information…I can’t really think of any reason for sites to do this… Maybe they are trying to make the games more exciting? Who knows… maybe I am just imagining this.
Has anyone else noticed these joker rolls on FIBS or any other backgammon sites? |
