Not all information out there is geared towards the new backgammon player. While this may be the group that requires that things be simplified for them, there are actually many advanced players who are always on the lookout for advanced backgammon strategy advice. We have compiled some of those tips that are sometimes overlooked, even by senior players.
One advanced backgammon strategy involves creating a plan. While newcomers may be forgiven for starting their gaming session without a plan and simply play 'as they go along', there is no excuse for an advanced player to skip over this step. Obviously, the plan could change in a minute according to the opponent's moves, but the idea is not to simply drift from move to move without foresight into what you could do in any given situation. This is an advanced backgammon strategy that should be taken seriously.
Another valuable tip is to never make your move without considering at least one or two other options. If you at the stage of seeking advanced backgammon strategy information, then you will already know that the best move is not always the first one that comes to mind. Taking a few extra seconds to consider other viable options could actually open your eyes to moves that you were blind to before. Finally, experts suggest that if you are forced to leave a shot in the game, you should position your checkers in a place that - if they are NOT hit - they will serve the best purpose for you. |
